We provide free-of-cost services to victims of military actions in Ukraine (servicemen, veterans, internally displaced persons, volunteers, doctors, etc.). The Сenter also develops distance assistance, than not only Lviv region residents can receive treatment from us.

The Center's specialists are highly skilled professional psychologists and psychotherapists in the method of cognitive behavioral therapy with many years of training and experience, constantly improving their skills.

The Center operates on the basis of a multidisciplinary and community-based approach. That's why we also have a social worker, and the possibility to deliver legal, psychiatric and spiritual assistance, and physical rehabilitation. Particular attention is given to the quality of services, privacy and customer support.

How can we help?

Return to civil life and adapting to changes

After returning to civilian life war veterans may face a number of challenges caused by a large number of factors. In addition, other people who lost their homes and jobs are not always easily getting use to the new circumstances. Such situations can cause excessive anxiety, low mood, uncontrollable irritation, difficulty in relationships, etc. Through individual work with a specialist or participation in special group programs it can be possible to achieve significant improvement in self conditions and relationships with others.

Traumatic events experiences and PTSD symptoms

After the experience of a traumatic event (life or health threats, or such observations) you may have thoughts or images that uncontrollably interfere in consciousness, sleep disorders, excessive excitability, irritability, negative thoughts and feelings about yourselve and the world, try to avoid thoughts, feelings or certain places. These are the PTSD symptoms and we can overcome them with the help of individual trauma-focused therapy, which lasts usually from 8 to 16 meetings.

Depression, anxiety

Long low mood state or overanxiety (about everything or something specific) together with a pile of other symptoms that our specialists can diagnose may indicate a depression or anxiety disorder. These disorders significantly impact the quality of life, relationships, but - you can overcome them!

Abuse of alcohol or other psychoactive substances use

Substance abuse may be due to a number of life and psychological difficulties. CBT methods used by specialists of the Center are quite effective in such situations. When dealing with addiction - we can make appropriate referrals for help, focused on the addiction.

Other life’s difficulties

You can also face a number of other life’s difficulties, which at the first seem are not related to the mental health. However, you can still contact our Center - we have many friends and partners; we contact with a lot of volunteer, public and commercial organizations; and also we can offer our social worker help, as well as a psychiatrist, a lawyer, or a confessor can assist you.

Who can take advantage of the services?

ATO veterans, military, displaced persons and their relatives

First, you should contact by phone given below to make an appointment. The administrator will ask some questions about your situation, and ask you to bring your documents confirming status.

Volunteers, doctors, journalists, etc.

You should apply to the reception center. If you do not have the appropriate certificates or other documents should notify the Administrator about this. Then you will receive instructions about further action.

What will expect you at the Centre?

Once you will be assigned meeting the center specialist will meet you to make the first broad assessment of needs.Then you will be asked to familiarize yourselves with the rules of the Center, the text of informed consent and the Privacy Policy. If you sign the documents the first meeting with the therapist will be designated for you, and if necessary - with other professionals.The therapist conducts a thorough examination of your condition and offers optimal types and forms of work.

What kind of help and who provide it?

The basic method of work - cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Additional methods of work - schema-therapy, EMDR.

Running time is determined by the therapist based on the survey results; CBT method however is short-term, and usually lasts from 6 to 16 meetings depends on the moderate difficulties.

Individual assistance is made by the psychotherapist in individual format when there are only the client and therapist. This meeting is lasting 50 minutes. During the work period psychotherapist does not change (with the exception of emergency). Also sometimes when the parties agree, the psychotherapist can offer a meeting together with your loved one to help her/him understand your situation and facilitate further relationships.

Group support is a meeting of a few clients (3 to 16) and 1-2 psychotherapists. This kind of meeting is usually longer. The advantage of meeting is that group members can share experiences, help each other and move together towards the goal.

Distance services

  • If you need help and you are far from the Center (or can not get to it due to injury or other reasons), you can receive all appropriate services remotely, if you have access to the Internet and you have Skype;
  • some services can not be provided remotely, in which case we will provide appropriate guidance.

Mental health promoting and desease prevention programs

  • PSYCHOLOGY for LIFE
    This is an enlightenment course for all who are interested in psychology, and who wants to add to their life knowledge, calmness, ability to understand themselves and others.
  • MARITAL RELATIONSHIPS WORKSHOP
    This course was created for families to help better understand each other and to improve relations.
  • MINDFULNESS
    The course consist of several structured psychotherapy meditations. The aim of the course is to develop a sense of inner peace, acceptance of self and the world.
  • Psychosocial support adaptation of ATO veterans
    This course consist of 5 sessions for veterans and 1 lesson for their friends and relatives. The aims of the course is to develop skills of useful thought, emotion regulation, problem solving and establishing relationships.

Quality control

The Center has a system of services quality control.Therefore, during and after the meeting you will be offered to estimate the Center, the work of case managers, psychologists and other professionals according to a number of characteristics. Similarly, employees of the Centre estimate the work of the administration, and the administration estimate working professionals.Using this approach, we know whether the Centre provides quality services.

Privacy and Informed consent

Privacy
We respect your privacy very much, but you should know that there are cases when for your safety or the safety of loved ones we will have to break it. The terms of such violations is outlined in the document, that you can carefully read by joining the Center, and you can discuss its contents with a specialist of the Center.

Informed consent
We also respect your rights and freedom, so before you begin any intervention, you will find all the information about their purpose, special conditions, warnings, etc., and also sign the document.
